About the Leather:
This is such a rare find at Horween. The guys at the tannery showed us an uber soft leather that is very much akin to Charles F. Stead's Waxy Commander leather. Even though the leather is super soft to the touch, the bag holds it's shape very well. The color is a very deep, rich, charcoal / black color with lighter flecks of color throughout. This leather gives off such a wonderful vibe, these are tough to part with!
About the Bag:
Search the field. Survey the terrain. Or hell, just take it to the corner coffee shop. The Recon Horween Black Roadmaster Leather Mini Series is a suitable tool for any lightly packed mission. The Recon Mini is hand-crafted on the gritty west side of Chicago using industrial machines, threads, and techniques learned from disassembling vintage military bags. We're hand-selecting the best Horween has to offer: Soft and supple Horween Black Roadmaster leather. Our team is assembling these bags using techniques they learned while working for such brands as Coach and Tumi.
Solid steel swivel clips and hardware fly the finger to the incessant over use of flimsy plastic found on most bags. Take a look inside and you'll realize you've been out of touch with your inner minimalist far too long: Perfect space for your iPad, letter size paper, pens, small bits and no need for more. Look under the flap and you see a uniquely simple double pocket solution that uses a smart organization system for business cards and top secret organizational stash opportunities. Stop looking...Recon mini's finally here.
