Horween Whiskey Leather from Horween just gets better with time, changing its patina as you use it and developing a character as it gets banged around. We've integrated $60 worth of 1” AustriAlpin Cobra Quick Release buckles for good measure. The same buckles used by Special Forces in theater today.

Outstanding—everything I wanted in a leather briefcase. The quality of the leather is excellent, and the latches and other trimmings are top-quality. The buckles in particular are extremely satisfying to open and close. The autumn plaid lining is well-suited to the leather and tasteful. Great service, and it shipped much sooner than expected.

This is probably the most overbuilt bag I’ve ever worn for committing to the office and to and from customer and other work related meetings across the city. I love that it’s a mix stylistically between very fancy and casual with the alpin clips on the front, so I never feel out of place with whatever my attire is for the day based on who I’m planning to meet with. Also, pockets wise - the dump pocket has no organization but there’s fine it’s literally just where I put some random things I MIGHT need, which is the intention. For my use it’s perfect. The main pocket fits my 16in MBP perfectly along with an iPad my charger, USB C dongle, and room for much more, but the bag doesn’t wear huge. I thought reading reviews on the internet that a 17in width briefcase is on the large side, but for an average height man it doesn’t wear large at all. It looks great. Some complaints I saw were the heaviness of the bag. I am generally fit but not a gym rat and I have no issues carrying this bag with my MBP16, iPad Pro 12.9, chargers, and miscellaneous things.

I've been looking for a replacement shoulder bag/briefcase for quite some time. The construction of this bag is excellent and the design is practical. Having other Horween leather products, I know this will last a very long time. I could not recommend more.

Beautiful, Durable, Outstanding Quality
I've had this Defender Briefcase in Horween Whisky for a little under a year now. I purchased it to be my main commuting bag to the office. I commute on the Metra to Downtown Chicago 3 days a week and it's been exactly what I wanted/needed. I'm a lawyer so I was looking for a briefcase that was both beautiful looking, well built, and durable. The leather is gorgeous, the bag is superbly crafted, AND it's been durable on my commute. I can't say enough good things about this bag and Defy as a company. If you're in the market for a briefcase you will not be disappointed with this one.
