There's something about old military field gear, a well-worn waxed canvas jacket and a weekend spent somewhere far enough away that your phone stops working.

The scratches. The creases. The smell of a campfire. The kind of stuff that gets better the more you use it.

That's pretty much where our heads were when we built this one.

For this Limited Edition Defender, we started with Olive Drab TexWax™ Wax Canvas, the kind of rugged, beautifully understated material that looks like it belongs hanging beside an old hunting jacket in a cabin somewhere.

Then we opened the door, lit the fire and brought a little warmth inside.

Fire Blaze Orange ECOPAK™.

There's something pretty great about lifting the flap on all that subdued Olive Drab and discovering a blazing orange interior. A little like stepping into a warm cabin after spending the day outside. And beyond looking incredible, the high-visibility lining makes finding your smaller gear a whole lot easier.

Even better, ECOPAK™ is made from 100% recycled polyester fiber and film, giving discarded plastic bottles a second life as incredibly durable technical fabric. Each yard repurposes the equivalent of approximately 20 plastic water bottles. Less waste. More Bada$$ery.

The 14 oz. water-resistant TexWax™ exterior will crease, scuff and develop character with use. It's not supposed to stay pristine. Neither is your favorite old field jacket.

And because DEFYing convention is baked into our DNA, we finish the Defender with two imported 1" AustriAlpin COBRA® quick-release buckles, each capable of holding more than 1,000 pounds. That's over $60 worth of Austrian hardware on one briefcase.

Necessary? Probably not. But that's half the fun.

Horween® Austin Calf Leather trim, hand-skived leather details, oversized YKK AquaGuard® zippers and a detachable MIL-SPEC shoulder strap round out the build. Every one is cut, sewn and finished by our little crew right here in Chicago.

At 9 liters, there's room for a 16" MacBook Pro in its padded computer compartment, along with your daily essentials. A rear zippered pocket and integrated trolley strap make it just as comfortable traveling as it is heading into work.
