We got our hands on a few Horween Shell Cordovan “chips” in a rare, natural Bourbon color from the iconic, over century old Horween Leather Tannery in Chicago. Not barrels. Not bottles. Just chips. The kind that make a leather nerd’s heart skip a beat. And when they're gone, they're gone. Which is exactly what these will be, soon.

At DEFY, we’ve always had a thing for Whiskey. But Bourbon hits different. It’s smoother, deeper, a little moodier. Same goes for the leathers. Both are beautiful. One just makes you question your life choices in a slightly more luxurious tone.

So we made a tiny batch of Mr. Grippers. Hand-cut. Hand-finished. Handheld. Built in Chicago by a team of people who treat leather like religion and patina like prophecy. The hand feel? Somewhere between "damn" and "what is this even made of?"

This is the kind of gear you pass down someday. Or hoard quietly like a weirdo. No judgment.
