One of our favorite details is one you'll probably never notice. Between the exterior and interior, we strategically reinforce critical stress points with additional layers of material because we'd rather overbuild something once than apologize for it later. It's the sort of thing that takes more time, costs more money, and makes absolutely no difference until ten years from now.
We've never had much of an advertising budget. We'd rather spend that money where it matters: premium materials, industrial sewing machines, ridiculously strong thread, and the decades of experience sitting behind every sewing machine in our Chicago workshop.
Every Menace 2.0 is hand-cut and sewn by our small team using methods that have become increasingly rare. We still build from the same hand-drawn paper patterns Mr. Lee has trusted for decades. We still take the time to perfectly align every panel, every seam, and every reinforcement because we believe the hidden details deserve just as much attention as the ones everyone sees.
Truth be told, this isn't the fastest way to build backpacks. We still build them the way Mr. Lee taught us decades ago because some things simply don't deserve shortcuts.
Don't be surprised if you suddenly find yourself volunteering to run errands. Somehow, everything becomes a little more enjoyable when you've got an excuse to carry this thing.
