- NOTE: Wax canvas is alive with natural highlights and marks that show up as we turn each bag right side out. They are early signs of a patina that will deepen, shift, and evolve the more you carry it. No two bags age the same. That's the beauty of wax canvas, and its incredible hand feel only gets better as it wears in.
Some backpacks are built for the daily grind. Others look like they're ready to disappear into the woods for a long weekend.
The Rover in Olive Drab TexWax™ x Autumn Plaid somehow manages to do both.
We start with Olive Drab TexWax™ canvas on the outside. Rugged, weather-resistant, and carrying the kind of character normally associated with old military duffels, field jackets, and gear that's been handed down rather than replaced. It doesn't try to look tough. It just is. And the best part? It only gets better with time. The creases deepen. The marks tell stories. The patina builds character. Give it enough years and people may assume you've crossed mountain ranges, fought bears, and disappeared into the wilderness for extended periods of time. We won't be the ones to correct them.
Then you open it.
Autumn Plaid TexWax™ canvas lines the interior, bringing a completely different personality to the party. Warm. Familiar. The kind of material that feels like it belongs in a hunting lodge, a vintage flannel, or next to a campfire somewhere far away from notifications. It adds structure, durability, and just enough visual surprise to make you smile every time you unzip it.
The Rover was designed for those days when your carry load changes by the hour. Laptop, notebook, camera, jacket, chargers, water bottle, random gear you swore you wouldn't need but brought anyway. The spacious main compartment swallows it all while the padded laptop section keeps your technology from participating in any unplanned experiments.
And because DEFY has never met a carrying option it didn't like, the Rover gives you plenty of them. Over the shoulder with the included MIL-SPEC strap. On your back with the removable closed-cell foam padded backpack straps. By the included Horween Leather Mr Gripper top handle. Or by the side carry handles. Four ways to carry it depending on where you're headed and how much effort you're willing to put into getting there.
Military-grade webbing, steel hardware, and a complete refusal to cut corners keep everything locked down and ready for whatever the day decides to throw at you. Overbuilt? Absolutely. That's sort of our thing.
