The right venue makes all the difference.
There's something about a well-worn military field jacket. The faded olive canvas. The scuffs. The way it somehow looks better after a few years of being dragged through life. It wasn't designed to be fashionable. It was designed to get the job done. And somewhere along the way, it became timeless.
That's the spirit behind our latest small-batch Venue.
We've wrapped this little beast in rugged, water-resistant 14 oz. Olive Drab TexWax™ waxed canvas, a material with that unmistakable old-school military character. Tough, beautifully textured and destined to develop its own personality with every adventure. Then we went in the opposite direction on the inside, lining it with Made in USA Coyote X-Pac™ VX21, a lightweight, highly weather-resistant technical fabric that brings modern performance to an otherwise vintage-inspired exterior. Old-school grit meets new-school engineering. And damn, do they look good together!
Of course, we couldn't leave well enough alone. We paired it with rugged MIL-SPEC seatbelt webbing, adjustable metal hardware and a precision-engineered 1" AustriAlpin™ COBRA® Quick-Release buckle. Yes, a ridiculously overbuilt buckle on a three-liter bag. We've never been particularly good at knowing when to stop.
At just 8" x 8" x 3", the Venue carries the essentials without making a production out of it. Phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a small book or your favorite everyday carry gear. An interior pocket, key metal military rifle clip and exterior back pocket keep everything within easy reach. Small enough to disappear into your day. Tough enough to become part of your everyday routine. This is the bag you can't live without when you travel for sure, and is great for everyday minimal carry that won't weigh you down.
Hand-cut and sewn right here in Chicago, this is a small-batch combination of two materials we absolutely love. One rooted in the past. The other engineered for the future. Both built for wherever the hell you're headed next.
